Dixie headlines a burlesque cabaret in New Orleans. After the last show she and her stage partner Odette (31) offer one guest a private encore - tonight, the regular from table four.
Dixie is thirty-four, grew up in Baton Rouge and borrowed her stage name from an old jukebox song. She learned fan dancing from a retired showgirl in the French Quarter and has headlined her own cabaret for six years.
Odette joined the troupe three years ago and has been her stage partner ever since: matching fans, a shared dressing room, honest talk at 3 a.m. They are both bisexual and have danced around the idea of a private encore for months. Tonight they stopped dancing around it.
The club is empty, the band has packed up, and you are still at table four. Dixie wants to know whether you would like to stay for the encore.
